My favorite way to drink coffee is drinking it cold and in frappuccino form, no matter the weather (and I am a little addicted to it). I love my coffee cold but my hands don’t like the cold during the winter. Living in Texas a cold coffee is good most of the year because it is usually way too hot here, but on those sporadic few cold days that we do get, then a cozy would come in hand and it’s fun too. So I wanted to design one that I could use all the time and it would hold up with using cold drinks and stay beautiful and I think I did that!

Even my daughter Elizabeth loved the cozy and wanted to put it on her vanilla bean frappuccino and keep her hands warm on those cold days. Several years ago I made my older girls Popsicle cozy’s and it was to make sure their hands weren’t freezing cold eating the Popsicle and yogurts and now I know why they loved it because I got to enjoy my cold drink and my hands weren’t freezing.
See, she stole my cozy! But it’s okay, it kept her little fingers warm and I guess I will have to make more!
I used Lion Brand’s 24/7 Cotton in the colors Jade and Rose to make the cozy and it reminded me how much I love cotton yarn because it really brings out the stitch definition. I typically work with an acrylic blend a lot and also merino wool and those yarns are amazing and squishy but sometimes the stitch definition of a beautiful stitch can get lost. I knew I wanted to make a coffee cozy and that I would need a cotton yarn, so I did a little web surfing to find a cotton yarn I wanted to use and I came across Lion Brand’s 24/7 cotton and not only was I amazed by the softness and quality but the color options were endless, I loved all the colors I found but I had to narrow it down to two and over the past year or so colors like Jade has been a favorite of mine, it pops up all over my house. So then I had to pick a complimentary color and you can’t go wrong with pink! I hope you enjoy making the coffee cozy and much as I do, it has even inspired my young crocheters who are 8 & 10 to want to make a coffee cozy of their own!
Beanies that I love!!
